Guidance Director Chosen for Outstanding Faculty Award
St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School's Guidance Director, Ms. Mendy Mclaughlin was awarded the Outstanding Servant Leader Award (Staff) for her work during the 2023-24 academic year. Ms. McLaughlin schedules regular meetings with students upon their request to discuss all matters important to them. She lets them talk and share any stressers, guides them on academic matters and prepares them for their future. Please join us in congratulating Ms. McLaughlin!
Savio Math Teacher Selected for Outstanding Faculty Award
St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School Math Instructor, Mr. Jack Janecek, is awarded the Outstanding Servant Leader Award (Faculty) for his work during the 2023-24 academic year. Mr. Janecek is always available to help his students understand the math concepts being taught, offer support if needed, and displays a calm demeanor to all. Congratulations Mr. J!
Savio Places 10th out of 110 School in Spanish Test
SAVIO PLACES 10th OUT OF 110 PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN TEXAS FOR SPANISH EXAM RESULTS!
Today, St. Dominic Savio students celebrate their exceptional performance on the Spanish National Test. Among the 202 students who took the examination, an impressive 97 have garnered national recognition for their achievements.
Eighteen students have been awarded prestigious National Gold Medals for outstanding performance, indicative of the 95th percentile and above placement. Additionally, 22 students have earned esteemed National Silver Medals, denoting achievement within the 85th through 94th percentile. Moreover, 14 students have merited National Bronze Medals, highlighting commendable 75th through 84th percentile performance. Forty-three students have been honored with Certificates of Honor for their noteworthy placement within the 50th to 74th percentile range.
A Heartfelt congratulations is extended to all our students for their outstanding dedication and academic excellence.
Savio Volunteers Celebrated
With a blessing during the weekly Mass and a special luncheon in their honor, St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School celebrated the many volunteers who assist our school on May 1.
St. John Bosco Award Winners Announced
The St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School's St. John Bosco Award was given to two of the many volunteers at Savio, Mrs. Teresa Shaw and Mrs. Lisa Pettinato. Each has prayed a decade of the rosary every day for four years for every faculty, staff, and student member, by name. The thunderous applause and standing ovation exemplified the appreciation of all. Thank you, Lisa and Teresa! Savio Girls and Boys Track Teams WIN District!
The St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School Boys and Girls Track Teams both won our District at the track meet held on Tuesday, April 9. To say the weather was a mess is an understatement!
